Nechville Custom RB-6 Checkerboard Style 5

New - 20 hole pre-war spec flathead tone ring, 3 ply Maple rim, checkerboard binding on Maple resonator, Maple neck and peghead, Argentine gray finish, "Hearts & Flowers" fingerboard inlay, "Fiddle" peghead, Style 6 headstock inlay, Bluegrass traditional style pot with Nechville neck with Flux capacitor, (neck adjustment) 24 carat gold plated & engraved on helimounted frame and metal parts, Nechville tailpiece, one piece flange, flat head tone ring & wood arm rest. This is a 1 off for us and was taken from our original style 6 checkerboard. This is an exceptional instrument that we commissioned Tom to build for us as we wanted to see what his traditional series instruments where like and we are blown away. WOW what a outstanding sounding banjo with power, warm tone and balance. We discovered that the "Flux Capacitor" is really the only way to go as far as neck adjustment is concerned. It is just too simple and a big surprise was the fact that it has no coordinator rods. The quality of build is superb in every detail and is the complete package in beauty, sound and rarity. Priced with deluxe hard case.

Gibson All American 5 String Banjo Reissue #46

Gibson All American 5 String Banjo Reissue #46 Dated 12-19-79 - Excellent condition - Hand carved and hand painted with the understanding that less than 75 of this model was made and some of these were tenors. History of the United States inlaid in the fingerboard, carved & painted "Bald Eagle" headstock, carved & painted "Bald Eagle" on back of resonator, gold engraved "All American" tailpiece, gold tuners with Pearl buttons, gold engraved parts and 5 ply maple rim with colored wood inlay. Basically the reproduction of the originals with the exception of the thicker rim and set up with a Snuffy Smith bridge. This is a very good sounding banjo and the playability is excellent. There is a thin finish crack at the bottom of the peghead that runs around both sides and you have to look close to see it but it cannot be felt with your fingers. Beautiful and rare instrument that is difficult to find as you see very few for sale. Comes with OHC and a copy of the early 70's catalog featuring Roy Clark on the cover playing one.
